Police Arraigned Man Over Alleged Fraud Of 900 Bags Of Dangote Cement

A 46 year-old-man, Akinleye Oluwaseun has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate court  for allegedly obtaining  900 bags of Dangote cement belonging to Alhaja Bolanle Oladapo. 

Oluwaseun is docked on a two-count charge bothering on fraud and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Jafani Muslim told the court that the suspect committed the offence on March 14 at Oke-Baale in Osogbo.

He explained that the accused person fraudulently obtained 900 bags of Dangote cement belonging to Alhaja Bolanle Oladapo under pretence of paying her in two weeks time.

Jafani added that the suspect also stole the bags of Dangote cement valued N1,742,500

He submitted that the offence is contrary to and punishable under section 419, section 383 and section 390 (9) of the criminal code 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003.

Akinleye Oluwaseun pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge levelled against him.

The defence counsel, Mr. Lukman Adeleke prayed the court to grant his client bail.

The magistrate, Mr. Tunde Badmus granted the accused person bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.

He also ruled that the address of the surety be verified by the police and adjourned the case to May 5 for hearing.
