A 37-year-old Owoniyi Idowu has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate court over alleged fraud of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol.
The accused was arraigned before Magistrate A.O. Ajanaku on a two-count charge of fraud and stealing.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun told the court that the accused committed the offence sometimes between year 2012 and December 2017 at L.L. Omotoyosi filling station, in Osogbo.
Inspector Elisha said the accused fraudulently obtained 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) valued N6,525,000 property of one Omotoyosi Lamidi.
He said the offence committed is contrary to section 418, and punishable under section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ii laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against him.
Defence counsel, Mr. Temitope Ige prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The magistrate granted the bail of the accused in sum of N500,000 with three sureties.
She then adjourned the matter till July 28, 2018 for hearing.
