A 30-year-old man has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly damaging a Cannon 11 Tecno phone.
According to the charge sheet, the suspect, Yusuf Abidemi on April 9,2019 around 7;00pm unlawfully damaged the said phone belonging to one Folasade Adesola contrary to and punishable under Section 415 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 of Osun State of Nigeria.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
While answering question from the Magistrate, the suspect disclosed that he mistakenly collide with the lady while attempting to pay for the goods he purchased at a shop at Rinsayo area of Osogbo.
He added that after picking up the phone, he discovered it had been damaged and offered to repair it at his personal engineer shop but the owner refused, insisting that the phone must be taken to Slot for repair.
He added that he had genuine intention to repair the phone if she had agreed to take it to his engineer but she insisted on taking it to slot even after telling her he does not have fund to pay for repair at slot.
Having listened to the suspect’s presentation, the Magistrate, Mr. O. O. Oladoke admitted the suspect to bail in the sum of N90,000 and one surety in the same sum.
He added that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means and a valid means of identification.
He then adjourned the matter to May 28, for mention.
