The Police in Osun, on Tuesday, arraigned a 42-year-old man, Adebowale Gbenga, before an Osogbo Magistrate Court, for stealing a Toyota Camry car.
Gbenga, who is facing a one-count charge bothering on stealing pleaded not guilty to the offence preferred against him.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the accused committed the offence sometimes between March and December 2017.
Oladoye further said that the defendant was in possession of a Toyota Camry with registration number KJA 405ER when he was apprehended.
He said the offence committed contravened section 430(1) of the criminal code cap 34vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2003.
The Defence Counsel, Mrs. Patience Ofoyeju, urged the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, however, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with three sureties in like sum.
She said one of the sureties must be a civil servant while the other a closed relation to the accused.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Adebukola Awodele, adjourned the case to April 9 for hearing.
