Police Arrest 58 Armed Robbery, Kidnap Suspects In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command said 58 suspected criminals have been arrested for their involvement in armed robbery and kidnapping.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, while prading the suspects said the arrested persons comprise seven armed robbery and 11 kidnap suspects.

CP Morris said they were arrested within his four weeks of assumption in office.

Morris said among the arrested criminal suspects are 40 of the ‘shila boys’, a young group of armed men terrorizing residents of the state.

He said the Shila boys were arrested at a polular place called Sambisa Forest belived to be safe haven for the miscreants after coordinated operation with hunters.

Two Ak-47 rifles and 25 round of live ammunations, one Toyota Prado Jeep, Hummer bus, with the sum of N10,000 and GSM handsets were recovered from the suspects.

The CP added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
