The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five suspected herdsmen for alleged kidnapping.
The arrested herdsmen were identified as Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdullahi and Suleiman Abdullahi.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Command.
The operation that led to the arrest of the five suspects was carried out by the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oodua People’s Congress and local hunters, according to the statement.
The bush combing operation took place from Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah to the thick forest around Iju/Ikere boundary.
Items found with them include two motorcycles, one cutlass, one jack knife/dagger and four phones.
