Police Arrest Notorious Armed Robber With Two AK47 Rifles, N4.9m
The Kano State Police Command has apprehended a notorious armed robber, Hassan Iliya, 35, and recovered two AK-47 rifles with 47 live ammunition rounds and N4.9 million in cash.
According to Police Spokesman Abdullahi Kiyawa, the arrest followed a report by a resident of Yandadi Village, Kunchi Local Government Area, who was attacked and robbed of N15 million by armed robbers on Monday.
Against this backdrop, Commissioner of Police Salman Garba directed a team of detectives to conduct intelligence-led patrols, leading to Iliya’s arrest while attempting to escape on a motorcycle.
A search revealed a sack containing the AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and cash. The Commissioner has ordered an investigation into the case.

โOn the same day, the team arrested the principal suspect, Hassan Iliya, of Alhazawa Village, Musawa local government area of Katsina State, while attempting to escape on a motorcycle.
โA spot search revealed a sack containing two AK-47 Rifles with 47 rounds of live ammunition and cash totaling four million, nine hundred, and eighty-six thousand naira,โ Kiyawa said.
