Police Arrest Odetayo, Suspended OSPOLY Rector

Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo, the suspended Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has been arrested by the police.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Odetayo was arrested at the premises of Federal High Court, Osogbo by policemen from Zone 11, on Wednesday.

He was however released on bail and asked to report today (Friday).

Odetayo was still with the police as of the time of filing this report, according sources.

The medium couldn’t ascertain the reason behind Odetayo’s arrest, but sources said it was not unconnected with some property of the polytechnic reportedly in his custody.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that Odetayo was suspended by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration via a letter dated July 1, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, M. K. Jimoh.

Odetayo was appointed as substantive Rector of the Polytechnic on March 14, 2023 by Adeleke.

He was suspended four months for alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of fund.

But Odetayo denied all the allegations against him, just as he approached court to seek redress on his suspension.
