Men of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested a suspected drug kingpin, Muhammad Isma’il, and seized 46 bags of Indian hemp alongside other illicit narcotics.
The Police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Alilu, in a statement on Monday, said police detectives acting on a tip, invaded Isma’il’s hideout in the BCGA Quarters of Malumfashi Local Government Area and arrested him.
According to the statement, “Nemesis caught up with the suspect after credible information about his criminal activities reached the Malumfashi divisional police station.
“The Divisional Police Officer DPO Malumfashi promptly dispatched a team of detectives who successfully apprehended the suspect.”
A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of contraband, including 45 bags of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, 500 bottles of a potent concoction known as “sucking and die solution,” and an unspecified quantity of D5 tablets.
According to ASP Sadiq, Isma’il confessed to his crimes and even named his accomplice, Ibrahim Kisko, who is at large.
Authorities planned to hand over Isma’il and the seized drugs to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.
