Police Commences Probe As Unknown Assailants Shoot Osun APC Member
A middle-aged man identified as Taofeeq Mustapha has cried out for help after he was reportedly shot by gunmen while travelling in a minibus around the Oluode Aranyin area of Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday.
Mustapha, a resident of Osogbo in a video obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, claimed to be a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and alleged that he became a target of the assailants because he wore a fez cap made in the campaign colours of the APC and bearing the inscription “AMBO,” the acronym of his party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
In the video, Mustapha, who had open wounds on his legs, further said in the Yoruba language, “They observed I had on my head a cap with AMBO inscription. They came in Sinna Bus and had on their head fez cap with Accord inscription.

“They shot at me repeatedly. I escaped death narrowly. It was AMBO cap that I had on that made me their target. They have been after my life since. Nigerians must help me.”
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the command was aware of the incident.
“Probe has commenced into the incident. The victim was offered treatment but his family members insisted on taking him away for treatment.
“We have launched investigation into the incident,” Ojelabi said.
