The Police Operatives last week discovered strange conglomerate of shrines used to defraud residents in Ilobu, Osun state and its environs.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police, Osun Command, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, who stated that they had been to the shrines.
“As we heard the information, we acted on it and made arrest of two brothers of the same parent who are into the criminal act of defrauding people of their money,” he added.
The CP said that the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola was specifically also involved.
“The Governor has directed the relevant agencies of the government, that the place should be brought down,” he said.
He added that the shrines had been demolished as police afterwards moved on with their investigation.
The medium gathered that the den was used by a cartel of fraudsters to defraud many unsuspecting residents of the state as well as those from outside the state who fall for their antics.
It was also learnt that shallow graves were discovered in the den and the police authority disclosed that all the details found in the shrine would help in the investigation going forward.
