The Police has disclosed how a Point-of-Sale operator on Friday, thwarted an attempt by a customer to transact with a fake naira notes.
The customer, identified as Linda Ihebinike, attempted to make transaction with fake naira notes to the tune of N90,000 in Lagos State.
This was disclosed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his X handle on Sunday.
Hundeyin said the PoS operator raised the alarm after Ihebinike attempted to use fake N1,000 notes to make a purchase totaling N90,000.
Hundeyin wrote, “A vigilant POS operator raised the alarm after a customer, Linda Ihebinike, attempted carrying out a transaction with fake N1,000 notes to the tune of N90,000. Investigation is ongoing.”
