Police Force Mourns Arase, Opens Condolence Register at Headquarters
The Nigeria Police Force has opened a condolence register at its headquarters in Abuja in honour of the late Solomon Arase, who passed away on August 31 at the age of 69.
Arase, the 18th Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, was remembered with tributes from senior officers and staff who gathered to sign the register and pay their respects.
In a statement on Monday, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, described Arase as a revered leader whose service to the Force would not be forgotten.
“The Nigeria Police Force has opened a condolence register at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, for the revered former police chief, as senior officers and staff pay their respects.
“In honour of his memory, the Police flag will fly at half-mast in all Commands and Formations nationwide,” the statement read.
The gesture is part of formal remembrances organised by the Police to honour Arase’s legacy.
