Police Nab Fake Surveyor In Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a 64-year old man, Raji Popoola who specializes in posing as a registered surveyor in order to dupe unsuspecting victims.
Popoola who was arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Osogbo, the state capital, was charged with offences bothering on conspiracy, fraud, posing as a registered surveyor among others.
Police Prosecutor, Ajayi Sunday told the court that the accused with others now at large on the 11th of October, 2005 at around Igbona area, forged the survey plan and land agreement documents of a parcel of land situated along Ilesa road in Osogbo.
Sunday said the accused presented the papers to one David Iyiola knowing fully well that they are fake.
The Prosecutor noted that the offences are contrary to and punishable under sections 467, 484 and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
The accused however pleaded not guilty to the offences leveled against him while his counsel, Barrister Dauda Oyewole implored the court to grant him bail.
In his ruling, Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba granted the accused bail of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case till February 28, 2018.
