Police Officers Face Disciplinary Actions For Assaulting Man In Kwara

The Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have subjected officers seen in a video where they assaulted a man in Kwara State to disciplinary action.
A man had via the X platform called the attention of the Police Spokesperson to the video.
According to the man, the Policemen accused the victim of being a ‘Yahoo Boy’ in an attempt to collect money from him.
He wrote: “As seen today in Ilorin. A young man walking by with his girlfriend and your people parked and grabbed him labeling him a Yahoo boy just to collect as usual from innocent young guys.”

However, in a new development via at statement on the Facebook handle of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday said the officers have been referred to the Force Provost Marshal where they will face disciplinary actions.
According to the statement, “We have taken action in response to the recent incident involving officers from Kwara State Police Command who were captured assaulting a member of the public in a viral video. Such conduct is unacceptable and goes against the principles of the Force.
“The officers in question have reported at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, along with their commander. They have been referred to the Force Provost Marshal where they will face disciplinary actions. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability within the Force.”
