Police Parade Three Armed Robbers Who Disguise As Nigeria Army

The State of Osun Police Command have paraded three suspected armed robbers impersonating themselves as officers of the Nigerian Army.

The suspects are ;Agbebaku David ‘M’ aged 35yr, Olubunmi Adewale ‘M’ 34YRS
,Oderinde Oluwaseun ‘M’ aged 35yrs and Ibrahim Ajibola, ‘M’ aged 27yrs.

Items recovered from the suspects are; Honda car with REG. NO. RGB399MB four Nigerian Army I.D cards one military photograph one laminated military certificate one stamp pad belonging to Nigerian Army, one full military camourflag kit, two camourflag T-shit ,one singlet ,one tubor sweater, one head warmer ,three military face caps , two dependant I.D cards , Jack knive and the sum of hundred thousand naira (N100,000).

This was revealed by Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode while parading the suspects at State CID in Osogbo on Friday.
He said Ibrahim Ajibola was arrested on 9th of February by police operatives attached to prompt response unit while on intensive township patrol along Osogbo- Gbongan highway showed his I.D Card bearing Peter Ojochugwu.

Olokode said the suspect claimed to be serving at Division 2 Odogbo, Ojo barracks, Ibadan and on special duty in Maiduguri fighting Boko-Haram insurgence before he was shot on his leg by the terrorist.

The CP further explained that the suspect claimed he was given pass to go and treat himself by the Nigerian Army authority which he showed to the police operatives, but after they painstakingly scrutinized all the documents they found were fake which the suspect thereafter confessed.

He further said that in the course of discreet investigation, Ibrahim Ajibola mentioned his accomplice to be one fake Captain, David Agbekuba of the Nigerian Army, dismissed from the force as a Lance corporal in the year 2020 and since then he has been parading himself as Army Captain and a car dealer.

According to him, “Ibrahim Ajibola and one other, who is now at large took a stolen Honda Accord car with Registration Number RGB-399-MB to David Agbekuba and bought the car from the starboy at the rate of one million, six hundred thousand naira only (N1.6m) and facilitated the payment to starboy by doing fake alert to him with the help of one Emmanuel who is currently serving jail term at Ikoyi prison Lagos state .

“During a meticulous investigation it was also discovered that, the Honda accord car with Registration Number EPE-509-GL that Ibrahim Ajibola was arrested with is also one of the stolen vehicles that Ibrahim Ajibola and one other at large, sold to a criminal receiver who is also still at large” the police CP said.

The fake Army Captain was on 2nd March, 2022, reportedly obtained three hundred thousand naira (#300,000.00) during the course of investigation it was revealed that he was once arrested in Akure, Ondo State 2019 for the offence of impersonation and stealing, remanded at at Olokuta Correctional Center, Akure and was released on January 2020.
