The Ondo State Police Command has announced the discovery of three headless decomposing bodies along a river in the Odigbo area of the state.

According to a statement by the spokesperson for the command, Ayanlade Olushola, the decomposing bodies were discovered by local residents who immediately alerted law enforcement.

The statement said upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge promptly mobilised officers to the scene and initiated a coordinated response.

The PPRO noted that community leaders and local vigilantes have been engaged in efforts to assist with possible identification of the bodies.

“Despite these efforts, it is important to note that no formal report of missing persons has been filed in connection with the area, further complicating identification.

“The remains have since been recovered for further examination, and investigations are ongoing.

“We are urging members of the public with any information that may assist in identifying the deceased or shedding light on the circumstances surrounding their deaths to come forward,” the statement noted.
