Police Recover 558 Rustled Cattle, Arrest Kingpin in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has recovered 558 rustled cattle and arrested a notorious cattle rustling kingpin, Ibrahim Abubakar, during recent operations in the state.

Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Eribo, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on the command’s operational breakthroughs. He said Abubakar confessed to rustling cattle across Ekiti, Kwara and Kogi states, admitting to attacking cattle owners and stealing livestock on several occasions.

Eribo revealed that 33 suspects were arrested for various offences, including armed robbery, cattle rustling, illegal operation of a baby factory, child exploitation and stealing. Seven stolen vehicles, 10 fabricated master keys, three vehicle number plates, clothes and food items were recovered.

He added that police rescued six children aged between two and nine from an illegal baby factory in Ikere-Ekiti. Also recovered were baby delivery materials and drugs.

The commissioner assured residents of sustained clampdown on criminal activities across the state.
