The earlier suspended digitalized Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) has been reintroduced by the Nigerian Police Force.
This was made known in a post on the Police X handle on Friday.

The Police in the post, said e-CMR is an advanced digital system designed to improve vehicle security, fight crime and simplify vehicle registration.
It would be recalled that the Police had earlier announced plans to commence the enforcement of the digitalized Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) on the 29th of July, 2024.

However, following the controversy that trailed the announcement, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun ordered an immediate suspension of the plan to commence the enforcement of the e-CMR.
The Police Force at the time said the suspension was to give ample opportunity for mass enlightenment and education of the public on the process, benefits and effectiveness of e-CMR.
According to the post, one can conveniently register and manage vehicle information online, track stolen vehicles and prevent fraudulent activities.

You can conveniently register and manage vehicle information online, track stolen vehicles, and prevent fraudulent activities. Let’s work together to make our roads safer!”
