Police Summon Podcaster KAA Truths Over Cyberstalking Allegations

The Nigeria Police Force, Force Intelligence Department (FID), has summoned popular podcaster KAA Truths for questioning over allegations of conspiracy, cyberstalking, defamation of character, peddling injurious falsehood, and inciting violence.

The police invitation follows a petition by the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, a group that was also instrumental in the recent arrest of TikToker Ogunsanwo Olumide John, also known as Seaking, for allegedly disrespecting Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

According to a letter signed by DCP Dickson Yunana Ayuba on behalf of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Federal Intelligence Department, KAA Truths was requested to appear for an interview at the FID Complex, Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja, on Wednesday, 26th February 2025.

The letter further noted that the police’s investigative powers were in line with Sections 214 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Section 4 of the Police Act and Regulations, 2020.

KAA Truths has since been granted bail, but his arrest has sparked public outcry, particularly from human rights activist Omoyele Sowore.

Taking to Facebook, Sowore condemned what he described as an attempt to suppress free speech using state security agencies.

“What I found intriguing was that these Christian leaders, specifically Dunamis International Gospel Centre and Pastor Paul Enenche, have stationed Paul Adama, the founder of the nebulous group at the FID, to arbitrarily, vicariously, and capriciously intimidate, harass, and victimise journalists, bloggers, and individuals who express dissenting views against these pastors that he referred to as ‘fathers of faith,'” Sowore stated.

Despite KAA Truths’ release, Sowore raised concerns over the growing influence of religious organisations in police affairs.

“KAA Truth has been freed, but we must put an end to this cycle of violations and the vicious coalitions behind it,” he added.

Before leaving police custody, sources revealed that Paul Adama attempted to persuade KAA Truths to apologise to Pastor Paul Enenche.

However, Sowore opposed this, insisting that the podcaster should not be coerced into silence.

“I dissuaded KAA from accepting such an offer and advised him to continue informing the public through his podcasts,” Sowore affirmed.
