Portable Jumps Gate To Evade Arrest Over G-Wagon Debt (Watch Video)
Controversial Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable on Tuesday, jumped a gate in an attempt to evade arrest.
Osun Defender reports that the Lagos State Police Command arrested Portable following a petition from a car dealer accusing him of defaulting on payment for a G-Wagon worth N27 million equivalent to $18,770.
In a video trending on social media, the Zazuu crooner bolted while being interrogated by the police.
A police officer was heard telling Portable he came with an arrest warrant.
The singer who was close to the officer replied, saying no problem.
He later withdrew from the officer and jumped the gate.
Portable was said to have paid only N13m and had refused to pay the N14m balance.
Findings revealed that whenever the car dealer contacted him to pay the balance, he usually claimed that the vehicle was bad.
When efforts to get Portable to pay the balance proved abortive, it was learnt that the car dealer reported the matter to the police and policemen detailed to investigate the case arrested Portable.
Confirming his arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”
