Protest: NSCDC Returns Recovered Looted Items To NCC, Court

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Tuesday,ย  said it has handed over recovered equipment looted by hoodlums during the nationwide anti-hunger protest in the state to their owners.

Osun Defender reports that the hoodlums stormed the Nigerian Communication Commission and the Kano State High Court and carted away multi-million naira equipment.

The handing over of the equipment was disclosed in a statement by the commandโ€™s Public Relations Officer, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, on Tuesday.

โ€œThe items include two Cisco Switch costing over N400 million, computer sets, air conditioners, executive chairs, doors/windows, photocopy machine and law and judicial publications among others.

โ€œThese equipment belong to the NCCโ€™s Digital Industrial Park as well as the State High Court situated at the Audu Bako Secretariat complex, Kano,โ€ Abdullahi said.

He explained that the items were seized and successfully recovered by men of the corps, CNAI department shortly after being looted and stolen by miscreants during the protest in Kano.

Receiving the items, on behalf of the NCC Kano office, Mr Aminu Chido, appreciated and commended the gallant effort of the personnel of the corps for the recovery, hoping that the synergy and cordial relationship existing between the commission and the NSCDC will be maintained.

Also, the State High Court whose staff received the items on behalf of the institution praised the corpsโ€™ officers for their patriotism.

In his remarks, the NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Falala, reiterated the commandโ€™s commitment towards securing and protecting national assets and infrastructure in the state.
