The protesters, primarily tricycle operators, expressed their frustration with the surge in petrol prices, which they reported had reached an alarming ₦1,250 per liter.

The increase, they claimed, has made life increasingly difficult, affecting their ability to provide for their families and sustain their livelihoods.

The protesters urged President Tinubu to take immediate action to address the situation and provide relief to Nigerians

One of the protest leaders, Habibullahi Isiaka, while speaking with newsmen said the constant rise in fuel prices has placed an unbearable financial burden on the riders, leaving many unable to afford even basic necessities.

“The increase in fuel prices has made it challenging for us to meet basic needs,” he said, emphasizing how the price hike has reduced their earnings and strained their daily operations.
