AGAIN, the trial of the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, State of Osun, Rahmon Adedoyin and six workers of the hotel over the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s student of Obafemi Awolowo University, was stalled on Monday.
The trial was adjourned till Tuesday, October 25, 2022, by Justice Adepele Ojo, the presiding judge and Chief Judge of the State.
It would be recalled that Adedoyin was arrested on November 15, 2021, over Adegoke’s death.
Adegoke was found dead at Adedoyin’s hotel, eight days after he was declared missing.
The case, which is being heard at High Court 1, Osogbo, experienced its third delay due to the public holiday declared by the Federal Government to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration on Monday, October 10.
The court had adjourned till Monday, October 10, for adoption of final written addresses, but OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the court couldn’t sit because of the public holiday.
The case was first stalled on July 14, 2022 because of the absence of the presiding judge.
On July 21, the trial was also stalled for the second time, due to the failure of parties to file their written addresses.
Adedoyin and six other accused persons, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola had since March been remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre on their alleged complicity in Adegoke’s death.
