The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has announced that Ramadan will start on Friday (tomorrow).
This was made known via the NSCIA’s National Moonsighting Committee Twitter handle on Thursday.
The MSCIA committee confirmed that the new moon was sighted on Thursday, meaning that Ramadan will start on Friday.
The NSCIA President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, had said the moonsighting committee would be responsible for searching for the crescent of Ramadan 1441 AH in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan also starts on Friday in Saudi Arabia and most Arab countries.
