Ramson Madu, Heartland head coach has said his side are the better in Nigeria’s second tier league clash against Osun United.
The Naze Millionaires benched the Omoluabi Giants 2-0 in Sunday’s Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday 9 clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
The Owerri landlords got the opener in the 29th minute from the spot converted by Moses Akande while Onyiri Odera grabbed the match winner in the 50th minute to hand the Owerri outfit the whole three points at stake.
Madu said his side are determined to up the momentum as well as further extend the four-match unbeaten record.
“It’s a very balanced, good and tough match for both sides as we all had our chances to win the match.
“I think we are the luckier side to have got the two winning goals to pocket the whole three points at stake.
“Osun United proved their worth as well as created scary moments for us but the efforts of my players paid off well at the end of the game.
“We are gradually getting the rhythm right so I expect further good performance as the league progresses.
“Of course, this victory will not be a one-off thing as we are determined to further extend the four-match unbeaten record in our subsequent matches.
The hard fought win against the ‘Pride of Osun’ has taken Heartland total earning to 19 points from possible 27 in the nine-week Nigeria’s second tier league.
