RCCG Pastor Arrested For Greeting Ladies In Discriminatory Way

• Warns Men Against Plating Hair

A Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor has reportedly been arrested abroad for greeting and addressing a gathering as “Ladies and gentlemen,” sparking debates about cultural sensitivity and discrimination.

This revelation was made by the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service at the Throne of Grace, Lagos, on Sunday.

Adeboye, in his sermon titled “My Father’s House”, lamented the incident as a sign of the moral and cultural challenges of the modern era.

He explained that the statement considered normal in many societies, was deemed discriminatory in the pastor’s host country because it excluded individuals who identify outside the binary categories of male and female.

“One of my pastors abroad was arrested for simply addressing a gathering as ‘ladies and gentlemen. Some people reported him for discrimination, asking, ‘What about those who are neither ladies nor gentlemen?, Adeboye said.

The revered cleric used the incident to call attention to what he described as the erosion of moral and spiritual values worldwide, warning Christians to take their faith more seriously in these trying times.

He said, “The end is nearer than you think. Those of you already in Christ, take this matter seriously. Do not let anyone weaken your stand. God is holy.”

In addition to recounting the pastor’s arrest, Adeboye shared another disturbing story of a woman who claimed her dog was her husband, highlighting what he termed the bizarre state of societal values.

“When asked about her husband, she replied, ‘I took him to the vet before coming. He doesn’t talk,’” he recounted with dismay.

The General Overseer further emphasized the need for RCCG members to hold fast to biblical principles, warning against adopting alien cultures and practices.

He criticized trends such as men wearing braided hair and women donning heavy makeup and false eyelashes, stating that such appearances would no longer be tolerated on RCCG altars.

Adeboye’s comments come months after he addressed similar concerns during the church’s 72nd annual convention themed “Heaven”, held at The Redemption City, Ogun State.
