Reactions As UNICAL First Female SUG President Appoints 50 Aides

The first female Student Union Government President of University of Calabar, Blessing Alims has appointed 50 aides.

In a letter dated August 01 and signed by Alims, the appointments take immediate effect after screening and confirmation by the Senate.

Osun Defender reportz that Alims was elected on June 14, 2024, as the first ever female SUG President of the university.

Alims is currently studying Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the Department of Political Science.

She hails from Gakem, in Bekwarra LGA, Cross River State.

Meanwhile, Netizens have been reacting to the appointments by the new UNICAL SUG president.

An X user, Omo Login @Yagba wrote, “Inside those 50 aides you must find one Akpabio, one onunaga, one Reno, and one INEC chairman.”

Another X user, Kolawole @rhaymoni, said “She learnt it from our Govt o… Let her showcase the wonderful act! Only in Nigeria will an SSA have SA who then have a PA.”
