Reactions Trail Kano Election Tribunal Judgment And Other Newspaper Headlines

Reports on the Kano election petition tribunal judgment sacking Abba Yusuf as the governor of the state, dominate the front pages of Nigerian newspapers today (Thursday).

The Punch says the police have declared a 24-hour curfew in Kano following the judgment of the tribunal sacking Yusuf from office. The newspaper reports that the Naira has tumbled to N960 against one dollar as the forex shortage worsens.

The Nation says the Ondo house of assembly has stepped up moves to impeach Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the state’s deputy governor, over alleged gross misconduct. The newspaper reports that Dele Alake, minister for solid minerals, says Nigeria’s solid minerals deposit is worth $700 billion.
