Regina Daniels Alleges Ned Nwoko Detaining Brother To Force Her Return

Nollywood star Regina Daniels has taken to social media to claim that her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, is allegedly using his influence to have her brother, Sammy West, detained in an attempt to coerce her into submission.

In a now-deleted Instagram post on Friday, Daniels accused the Nigeria Police and the judiciary of being complicit, asserting that her brother’s arrest and continued incarceration were part of a deliberate scheme to break her will.

“I give up! What crime did my brother commit? Standing up for his baby sister because her in-law constantly abused her? I actually respected the Nigerian police, but shame on you all! It’s clear the highest bidder always wins,” she wrote.

She added, “Now I’m trapped! I will return if that’s the only way—do whatever he wants, be injected to act like a zombie, locked up and violated in the house. Only then will my brother be freed. Legally, there is no real case against Sammy West! Ned Nwoko is bigger than Nigeria, that’s what this means. We lost—or rather, I lost.”

Daniels, who did not provide evidence to support her claims, insisted that her siblings were being targeted to pressure her into resuming the marriage and following her estranged husband’s demands.

The drama comes after Sammy West was remanded at Keffi Prison in Nasarawa State on Thursday by a Dutse Magistrate Court, reportedly without access to his lawyer or family.

This was first revealed by Regina’s older brother, @sweezzy1, on Instagram, who accused Nwoko of manipulating the legal system.

“He is currently at Keffi Prison! The Dutse Magistrate has disappeared. Ned, you can pay anyone, but you cannot buy integrity! Everyone, help me ask Ned what Sammy’s offense is.

“The judge said to remand him until bail is filed. Bail has been filed, but the magistrate is nowhere to be found. Do you want him to test prison life? Ned, the most powerful man in the universe, you still cannot outdo God!” He wrote.

In a video shared online, Sammy West appeared visibly upset, claiming he was denied contact with his lawyer and family members.

“They didn’t let me call my lawyer. My family hasn’t been able to see me since my arrest on Monday. No one knows where I was taken,” he said.

Updates from @sweezzy1 indicated that Sammy had been transferred from Keffi Prison to Suleja Prison in Niger State, with his case adjourned to November 28, 2025.

“From Keffi Prison to Suleja Prison… what exactly does Ned want to do with Sammy? They said if I enter Nigeria, they’ll detain me too. Ned, do whatever you want—let’s just turn jail into our home!” he added.

Veteran actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie, a mentor and godmother to Daniels, condemned the arrest, calling it a travesty of justice.

“The worst form of injustice is pretending it doesn’t exist. A child was arrested, and nobody has been allowed to see him for two days. He was flown from Lagos to Abuja and allegedly taken to court from the airport. How did we get here? Nigeria… wow,” Mercy wrote on Wednesday.

The ongoing marital dispute between Daniels and Nwoko began weeks ago after the actress publicly accused the Delta North lawmaker of domestic violence, claiming she suffered repeated physical and psychological abuse during their marriage.

Nwoko, in response, accused Daniels of substance abuse and mental instability, alleging she fled from a rehabilitation programme.
