Rep Jamilu Katsina Resigns From PDP
The member representing Faskari/Kanara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Muhammad Jamilu Katsina, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing the party of failing to provide a credible and united opposition.
In a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in Faskari Ward, Katsina announced his resignation was with immediate effect.
He explained that the decision followed careful reflection and consultation, expressing disappointment in the direction the party had taken.
He accused the PDP of failing to offer active and coordinated resistance to the ruling party, especially during crucial political moments.
“It has become clear to me that the party no longer represents the type of focused, credible, and united opposition that Nigeria so desperately needs at this critical time.

“Among my major concerns is the increasing lack of active and coordinated opposition from the PDP, especially in moments when strong and principled voices are most needed to check the ruling party and defend the interests of the Nigerian people.”
Katsina also pointed to what he called visible anti-party activities during the recent re-run election in his constituency.
“More disappointing was the visible anti-party activities by some members of the PDP during the Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency re-run election, which further weakened our common front and exposed cracks that have remained unaddressed.
“In view of this, I believe it is time to align with like minds across political divides to build a formidable coalition that will give Nigerians a real alternative — one that is built on justice, progress, and unity of purpose.
“It is time to move beyond party interests and fight for the future of our dear country.”
Although he did not disclose his new political platform in the letter, sources have confirmed that Katsina is defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He thanked the PDP for the years of service and pledged to continue working for national progress.
