Rep Jibrin Dumps NNPP, Joins APC To Back Tinubu
Rep. Abdulmumin Jibrin, who represents Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
In a statement on Monday, Jibrin announced his departure from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement led by former Kano State Governor Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He was warmly welcomed by thousands of constituents in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area, where he pledged his backing for Tinubu.
Over 2,000 Islamic clerics (Ulamas) offered special prayers for the president, as well as for peace and development in Kano State and Nigeria.
Jibrin’s return to the APC comes two months after his expulsion from the NNPP over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues.
He thanked the NNPP for their past support and urged his followers to join him on his new path with the APC.
