The Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Sulaimon Lasun Yussuff has expressed shock over the sudden death of the mother of Osun state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaja Saarat Aregbesola popularly called Iya Olobi.
Deputy Speaker in press statement signed by his Chief Press secretary, Mr Wole Oladimeji, he described Late Mama as a quiet mother whose life was exemplary to others because she struggled so hard to raise her children and ensure that they are well protected and well placed in the society.
According Yusuff, Alhaja Saarat Aregbesola would forever remain a veteran of democratic struggle, judging by oppression she suffered during the 2007 election.
It is on record that her forbearance in that election struggle partly led to the reclaim of people’s mandate that marked the symbol of victory for all progressive democrats.
“Mama would also be fondly remembered for life for being a worthy mother who nurtured a brilliant and friendly politician like Governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola”, he stated.
“We all would miss Iya Olobi for her affectionate characters to all that she knew with Rauf Aregbesola”
Yussuff wished mama an eternal rest and condoled wholeheartedly with His Excellency Rauf Atrgbesola and the entire family.
