An ad hoc committee of the House of Representatives has begun an investigative hearing into the raging crisis at the National Health Insurance Scheme.

The committee, which is headed by Mr Nicholas Ossai, is already grilling the Chairman of the Governing Council of the NHIS, Dr. Enyantu Ifenne, on why it ordered the suspension of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Usman Yusuf.

The ES, who is already on administrative leave, is attending the hearing.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, is also at the session.
