Reps Summon 6 Agencies Over N300bn Audit Queries

The Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives has issued a 72 hours notice to six agencies of the Federal Government to appear before it unfailingly on Thursday 2nd November, 2023 to answer queries to the sum of over N300,000,000,000 emanating from the report of Auditor General for the Federation.

This follows the failure of the agencies to appear before the committee on Monday 30th October, 2023.

The Agencies affected are, Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission (DPR), Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.

The Committee frowned at the attitude of the agencies and warned that failure to honour the extended invitation will result in the committee invoking relevant sections of the Constitution and standing orders to compel the attendance of their accounting officers.
