Members of the ruling houses in Eekosin, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State have called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to wait for the decision of the court before presenting the staff-of-office to the new Akosin of Eekosin Kasali Olagunju.
According to them, the new monarch of the town is not qualified for the position, as he is not a member of any ruling house in the town.
Addressing newsmen after a peaceful protest to the State Secretariat, Osogbo on Friday, the spokesperson for the protesters Kabiru Adewale, urged Governor Adeleke to allow the law to take its course on the matter.
The protesters also sought the cancellation of the coronation and presentation of staff-of-office scheduled for tomorrow, February 2.
“The three ruling houses from which Akosin is selected from are Oyesoji ruling house, Oyerinde ruling house and Niniola ruling house. But Kasali Olagunju is not from any of the three houses therrfore he is moy fit to be crowned the Akosin.
“We imlpored the government not to allow us to be oppressed as it is the turn of Niniola ruling house to present its candidate,” said.
