Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at the former Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, following the latter’s criticism of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu.

Governor Adeleke, accompanied by his elder brother, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, and nephew Davido, had met with President Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Monday.

The meeting, which was made public through photos shared by presidential aide Dada Olusegun, sparked speculations about a possible defection of the governor to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In response to the visit, Hon. Owoeye dismissed the possibility of Governor Adeleke joining the APC, stating, “The APC ticket is not for sale.”

He further alleged that the Adeleke family’s overtures were driven by fear of losing power in the upcoming 2026 elections.

However, Davido, known for his vocal support of his uncle, took to social media to mock Owoeye’s remarks.

In a post, Davidi said, “No be this guy naked for bush??”

The singer’s jibe alludes to a 2018 incident involving Owoeye, where a video surfaced online showing the ex-lawmaker naked in a market square, allegedly performing a ritual bath.

Owoeye later claimed he was a victim of blackmail by fraudsters who lured him under false pretenses and extorted money from him.

The individuals involved were arrested and convicted for cyberstalking and fraud.
