Rivers’ APC, PDP Backing Tinubu in 2027 — Wike
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described Rivers State as a symbol of political unity beyond party lines as he intensified mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike spoke on Sunday during a thank-you tour of Ahoada West Local Government Area, where he commended residents for setting aside partisan differences in the interest of collective progress.
The minister said politics in Rivers State has gone beyond loyalty to the All Progressives Congress or the Peoples Democratic Party, noting that the state now operates as what he called the “Renewed Hope Family.”
According to him, the cross-party collaboration in Rivers, which he likened to a “rainbow coalition,” distinguishes the state from others and reflects its capacity for inclusiveness and shared purpose.
He urged other states across the country to embrace similar unity as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
Wike stressed that Rivers State’s political strength is rooted not in party identity but in the collective resolve of its people.
He described the state as a model of organic unity, where political engagement is driven by common goals rather than partisan interests.
The minister expressed confidence that the spirit of cooperation would endure and reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu’s re-election, noting that Rivers stood firmly behind the president even when many doubted his prospects.
