Rivers Assembly Asks Wike Loyalists To Take A Bow And Go During Re-Screening

The nine Commissioner-nominees sent by Governor Siminialayi Fubara for screening were on Wednesday asked by the Rivers State House of Assembly to take a bow and go.

The nominees are loyalists of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike who resigned due to the fight between the former governor and his predecessor.

Those invited for the screening were Zacchaeus Adangor, ⁠Dr. Jacobson Mbina , ⁠Dr. Gift Worlu, ⁠Mrs Inime Chinwenwo- Aguma, ⁠Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke , ⁠Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom , ⁠Dr. George-Kelly D. Alabo , ⁠Hon. Isaac Kamalu and ⁠Engr. Austin Ben Chioma.

The governor as part of the implementation of the eight-point resolution reached at a peace meeting brokered between him and Wike sent the name of the nine Commissioner nominees to the Assembly.

The State House of Assembly in a letter of invitation signed by the Clerk, Dr Emeka Amadi directed key Wike loyalists who had earlier rendered their resignation to appear before it for screening.

During plenary at the hallowed chamber in the Legislative Quarters, Off PH/Aba Expressway, Port Harcourt, the Speaker of the House , Martins Amaehwule, read the letter from Governor Siminalayi Fubara, requesting their screening and confirmation.

The Majority Leader, Hon Major Jack, moved a motion that because the nominees had been screened before there was no need to repeat the process, and as such, they should take a bow and go.

The motion was supported by the deputy speaker, Rt Hon Dumle Maol, hence they were asked to ‘bow and go.’
