Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared himself as the winner of the crisis rocking the state, saying that the red pen his enemies wanted was still with him.
Fubara noted that the people behind the crisis in the state wanted him out of office, adding that he is a winner since he is still in charge.
Speaking at the crossover church service at St Paul’s Archdeaconry Parish in Opobo Town in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, the governor said he won the battle between him and his predecessor Nyesom Wike since he remains the governor.
He accused those fighting his administration of attempting to dampen the spirit of Rivers people and forcefully truncate the pace of development.
He said, “What they want is this red biro, but it is still with me. We are the winners because we are still signing with the red biro.
“As long as we are signing with the red biro, development will continue in Rivers State.”
