Rodri Fires Back At Ronaldo’s “Unfair” Ballon d’Or Comments
Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo‘s recent comments regarding the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, expressed his opinion that Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior was “robbed” of the title, calling the outcome “unfair.”
“Vinicius Jr should have won the Ballon d’Or, in my opinion it was clear. It was unfair.
“This is why I love Globe Soccer Awards, they are honest,” Ronaldo said at the Globe Soccer Awards last month.

Rodri, who took home the prestigious award, countered Ronaldo’s claims in an interview with AS.
He stated that Ronaldo, of all people, should understand how the award works and how the winner is chosen. Rodri emphasized that the journalists who vote for the award decided he should win it, implying that Ronaldo would have accepted the outcome if he had won.
“Well, it was a surprise, really, because he knows better than anyone how this award works and, above all, how the winner is chosen.
“This year, the journalists who vote have decided that I should win it.
“Probably, these same journalists were the ones who at some point voted for him to win it, and I imagine that then he would have agreed.”
