To promote good health of the people in various communities in the State of Osun, the Rotary Clubs of Ede, Osogbo, Osogbo metro & Ilesa GRA has started a three day health programs in the state.
The state Coordinator of the Rotary Family Health Day, Mrs Folake Adebayo said the gesture was in furtherance of the need by Rotary International to provide free medical services to enable families in various communities know their health status.
Speaking with Osun defender yesterday, Adebayo said the group had sent health professionals to various communities in the state for the medical outreach.
She expressed satisfaction that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had on September 15 this year declared Nigeria a fully certified polio free country.
However, Adebayo implored people to compliment the gestures of Rotary Clubs by providing them with necessary supports and encouragement in making the world a better place for all.
Beneficiaries of the three day medical outreach were made to undergo blood pressure level tests, HIV tests and counselling, nutrition and maternal health services, deworm for both children and adults, malaria screening and treatment and insecticide treated net distribution, among others.
The beneficiaries commended Rotary Club for the free medical services provided for them.
