The recently dismissed Secretary to the Kano State Government, Abdullahi Bichi, has threatened to expose what he describes as “explosive evidence” against political figures, accusing them of betrayal and deceit.

Bichi, who was removed from his position in December 2024, made the claim after returning from Saudi Arabia.

In a viral video shared with his supporters, Bichi revealed that he holds documents, voice notes, and videos that would unveil the true nature of some political leaders, including Governor Abba Yusuf and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

“I’m happy I left the office in peace, but let me be clear: this is not the best time to talk. At the right time, we will expose them. I have documents, videos, and voice notes that will show everyone who they really are,” Bichi said.

Bichi’s relationship with both figures had deteriorated after his suspension from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in October 2024.

He accused them of treachery and claimed they could not be trusted. “They don’t know anything except treachery. They can’t be trusted,” Bichi added.

His actions reportedly aimed at severing the governor’s ties with Kwankwaso’s political influence, which led to his suspension from the party, along with the then-Transportation Commissioner, Muhammad Diggol.

The State NNPP Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, while announcing the suspension of the two government officials, said the suspension came after the party received multiple complaints from the ward and local government leadership of the party.

Dungurawa said, “The party cannot tolerate actions that undermine its leadership and structure. After receiving formal complaint letters from their wards, and upon confirmation of the allegations by the local leadership, we have no other option but to take this decisive step.”

He further stated, “The leadership of the NNPP in Kano North, under the chairmanship of Sulaiman Dambatta, further verified the allegations, which led to the ultimate decision to suspend both officials.”

The political community in Kano is now closely watching to see if Bichi will follow through with his threats, as it could significantly impact the region’s political scene.
