Sampaoli Might Drop Red Hot Icardi
Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli isn’t adding Icardi to his 2018 world cup squad.
Icardi has been in a super form for his Italian club Inter Milan in the Serie A, scoring 18 goals in 22 games this season.
But his poor relationship with the leaders of the Argentina Football Association, his teammates and coupled with his performance for the Albiceleste may be responsible for him losing out according to the report.
In November 2017, the former Sampdoria striker pulled out of Argentina’s international friendly against Nigeria in Krasnodar.
The 25-year-old has made four appearances for the senior national team of Argentina and is yet to score a goal.
Argentina will face Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria in Group D at the World Cup in Russia.
