The leadership of National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS ) South West on Friday met with the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU ) to demand the reinstatement of the students union.
The meeting witnessed the presence of the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, Dean Students Affairs, Chief Security Officer and other top Management team with the Coordinator of NANS South West, Comrade Adekitan Lukman and his fellow student leaders.
While speaking with the management, the Coordinator described a school without students union like a man without blood flowing through his veins.
He demanded for an independent and formidable Students Union for the students of Great Ife and explained how very germane it is to have an operating Students Union.
In his reaction, Vice Chancellor who spoke on behalf of the management team appreciated their approaches to crises that nearly bedevilled the institution not quite long.
He however promised to reinstate the students union as soon as possible.
