Scores Of Christians Murdered By Gunmen In Rivers State

At least 20 people have been murdered by gunmen who went from house-to-house in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government area and its environs on the 1st of January.

According to reports, most of the victims had just returned from their various churches were they had gone to attend the cross over service.

According to some unconfirmed sources reports most of the victims were members of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Church.

The incident happened at about 2 am. The motive behind the shooting is yet unknown.

The state government and the state police command is yet to comment on the horrific attack. Meanwhile the remains of the deceased persons have been deposited in the morgue while those that were injured during the attack are being treated at the state government hospitals.
