Security Forces Neutralize 23 Terrorists, Apprehend 137 Suspects
The Defence Headquarters has reported the successful neutralization of 23 terrorists, the arrest of 137 suspects including 109 criminals and 5 kidnappers, and the triumphant rescue of 41 victims from the clutches of danger.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba disclosed these remarkable achievements in a statement.
The operation resulted in the surrender of 231 terrorists and their families, comprising 25 adult males, 63 adult females, and 143 children, in the North-East region.
The security forces’ efforts yielded a substantial haul of weaponry, including 41 weapons and 300 assorted arms.
This cache included 14 AK-47 rifles, one AK-49 rifle, two AK-47 rifles loaded with 7.62mm special ammo, one PKT gun, one LMG, two pump action guns, two locally fabricated pistols, three locally fabricated rifles, two Dane guns, one pistol, and two locally-made long barrel guns.
Additionally, the operation led to the recovery of valuable assets from the criminals, such as 13 motorcycles, 22 mobile phones, one bicycle, 10 machetes, and a pair of camouflage.

In the South-South geopolitical zone, the authorities apprehended a staggering 682,400 litres of stolen crude oil, 70,950 litres of illegally refined AGO, and 23,250 litres of DPK, effectively preventing an estimated sum of N414.3 million from falling into the hands of oil thieves.
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba emphasized the military’s unwavering commitment to pursuing violent groups that threaten the nation’s security.
He assured citizens that the security forces would persist in enhancing safety and restoring stability across the nation.
