The senate has approved five nominees for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) board.
The nominees are George Abang (secretary), Lukman Mohammed, Anumba Adaeze, Bola Adesina and Yahaya Mohammed.
The upper legislative chamber confirmed the nominees after Sulieman Kwari, chairman of the anti-corruption and financial crimes committee, presented a report on Tuesday.
While presenting his report, Kwari said all the nominees met the necessary requirements expected of them to hold public office.
President Muhammadu Buhari had asked the senate to confirm the nominees in September.
The president had premised his request on section 2 (1) of the law establishing the anti-graft agency.
“In accordance with the provisions of Section 2 (1) of the EFCC establishment Act 2004, I hereby forward for confirmation by the Senate the under-listed nominees as board members of the EFCC,” he said.
