The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, Mr. Ola Olukoyede on Wednesday, promised to be impartial in fighting corruption in the country.
The new EFCC boss said his mandate won’t discriminate among political parties, adding that the commission will go after anybody who commits financial crime irrespective of his party.
He made these known on the floor of the Senate during his screening exercise.
He said, “The EFCC mandates don’t discriminate. Whether you are in ruling or opposition parties, we will chase you when you commit financial crime.”
Meanwhile, the Senate has confirmed Olukoyede and Muhammad Hassan Hammajoda as the chairman and secretary of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) respectively.
The Red Chamber also confirmed the appointment of Mrs Halima Shehu as the National Coordinator and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIP).
They were confirmed following their screening on the floor of the Senate during plenary.
