Senate Presidency: Goje Meets Buhari, Steps Down For Lawan

Senator Danjuma Goje representing Gombe Central on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the National Assembly (NASS) has withdrawn his candidature for the Senate presidency.

The election for Senate Presidency in the ninth NASS is expected to hold on June 11.
He made the U-turn after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.

He has endorsed the ambition of Senator Ahmed Lawan as the Senate President of the ninth Assembly.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Sen. Ita Enang, was present as Goje and Lawan fielded questions from State House correspondents.

El-Rufai told reporters that Senator Goje agreed to also support the candidacy of Senator Lawan for the senate presidency. Yes
